Ashleigh's First REAL Vacation

Tampa and Orlando, Florida

May 1 - 11, 2002

Ashleigh's first real vacation was to Tampa and Orlando
with Mommy and Nana, and then Pop Pop joined us from the 4th through the 11th.

We went to Tampa on May 1st and arrived without incident.  :-)   Thank you God.

We picked up the Xterra and then headed to our condo on Tampa Bay.  I had to work Thursday - Saturday, so as usual, Ashies spent lots of time with her Nana.  We took some pictures in Tampa, but nothing really special, so I'm not going to put them here.

The Pop Pop got there on Saturday and we took off for Orlando in the late afternoon.  We got checked in and settled and then rested on Sunday.  We took Ashies to the pool for the FIRST time and she absolutely LOVED it!!!!!

Wow!!  That was fun and now I get to play in the grass! - Doesn't taste very good though!

On Monday, Nana and I took Ashies to Magic Kingdom.  We spent oh, about 10 hours there and she was absolutely delightful the entire time.  We took Ashleigh on some rides and to go meet Pooh in person!  OH WHAT A REACTION!!  (I was definitely pleased with that given the history her father and I had with Pooh!)

She was just sooooo happy!  Pooh clapped his hands and got down on the floor to hold her and she just smiled as big as big can be!  She started "making nice" on his arm....

What else did we do???   Oh, lots!  But I'll stick to what I'm putting pictures of on here  :-)

After spending a lot of hours at Magic Kingdom, we headed back to our condo.  On Tuesday, we decided that we needed to rest, so we didn't do much at all -- Didn't even really hit the pool much, although it was nice and toasty warm.  But, Pop Pop did get a chance to love up on his little baby doll!

On Wednesday, we went back to Magic Kingdom because there was one thing that we wanted to do that we didn't get a chance to do.  That was to ride Pooh's Adventure.  The line was forever long, but we waited 'cause it was the right thing to do (and we wanted to see it too!)  It was pretty neat, but not sure if I'd wait an hour again, unless of course little miss wanted me too!
