Ashleigh's Baptism

Ashleigh Neale was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in honor of mine and Neal's wishes on October 21st, 2001 (our one year wedding anniversary).

She wore the family gown... From Neal's mother and aunts to his very own daughter, three generations of his family have now worn the family gown, which is close to half a century old.

There was nothing that could have been more special to me than to have Ashleigh wear the same gown her father wore and to be baptized in the same church that he was baptized in and that held his Mass of Christian Burial.

Overall, it was a truly beautiful and emotional day....The only part of the service that actually made me cry was when the Father said a special prayer for the fathers.  I had to look at Ashleigh and tell her that her daddy was an Angel and his special prayers had already been answered...
for he is still here watching over us....

I will add this picture soon!

Four generations proudly make up this picture...  The only person you can't see is Neal... but he is on the right where
it is really bright white  :-)

Ashleigh is the only great grandchild to Neal's Noni and Pop Pop (now Pop Pop Pop to Ashleigh!)...

Making the event even more special was the Father who performed Neal's burial service baptizing his daughter.

Honoring the Catholic tradition, Ashleigh has two Godparents...  Ashleigh's Godfather (next to me) is Neal's best friend and fellow FF/Medic, Gus, and her Godmother, is Neal's sister and Paramedic, Heather.
