First.... let me apologize for being so slow in updating you all on Ashies progress!  There has just been soooo much going on with getting ready to go to Florida and then just getting back a few days ago.  BUT ---

Oh what a wonderful trip!!!  Ashleigh did absolutely wonderful on the flight down, slept most of the time!  We got there, and went to get our Xterra, and then headed to our condo on Tampa Bay.  It was absolutely beautiful there, but HOT!  We had a balcony that overlooked Tampa Bay and Ashies, her Nana, and her Mommy sat out there quite a bit!

I worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning, so the world's best Nana thought she'd perfect Ashleigh's crawling!  That's right!!!   Ashleigh can crawl now!  Mom had a long talk with Ashleigh two days before we went to Tampa and told her that she's been a part of all her firsts, and that she really wanted to see her crawl before she went home... so hop to it!  And she did!!!  She had started moving forward the day before we left.... but man oh man, let me tell you, when my mother sets her mind to something, by golly, it's gonna happen!  So, I'll credit one more of Ashleigh's great accomplishments to my mother!!  (Thanks Mom!)  Now, she's cruising across the room with no trouble... GEE, thanks Mom!  :-(  :-)

What else, Ashleigh has her two bottom teeth in now!!  And she's just over 16 pounds.  Haven't measured her length, but can tell you that she's growing longer day by day.

We celebrated our first Mother's Day together.  My mom went and got me a card from Ashleigh (it would have been Nealy's job) and Ashleigh (with a WHOLE lot of help from my mom) wrote on the card!  And she gave me a "Mum" bear, it's a little pink beanie bear with flowers on the chest.  The tag has a beautiful poem about Mum.

Ashleigh started day care yesterday.  She's going to Kindercare right by the house.  Neal and I often talked about where we would put her when she got older and we both liked that place because it literally sits across a parking lot from a staffed Fire and Rescue department.  Her first day was good for her, bad for me.  BUT, I didn't cry.  My mom picked her up about 2:30, and mom said she was sleeping when she got there.  She ate well all day and the lady said she did really really well.  That crushed me!  All I could think was that she didn't miss mommy or Nana for that matter.  She was WIRED for two hours after she got home.  Then shortly after 5, just crashed!

I worked from home this morning, so Nana took her to day care, and Ashleigh went to the lady, smiled at Nana and Nana left.  I called to check on her, and they said she was doing just fine....  :-)    Which is good, but makes Mommy feel like her little girl is really growing up now.

Well, I'll add some pictures here and also create a My First Vacation page as soon as I get a chance.  My savior, my helper, my mother is leaving tomorrow, so I have a feeling my life is going to get really hectic, really quick.

We're heading to Roanoke next week for the National EMS Memorial Service, so I'll make sure I get the pictures of her up here before then!

Hope you all stay safe in the meantime.

           God Bless!
