| Written: Feb 12, 2002 Well, little Ms. Angel Ashleigh has grown soooo much. She had her 4 month check-up last week, and she weighed just shy of 12lbs. She's gained over 7lbs from her low weight of 4lb 12oz a week after she was born. She's also grown just over 6", coming in at 25" for the day. So, as you can see she's growing right along. She's now doing lots of things that make a mom proud, like rolling both directions, smiling, giggling out loud, playing with her toes, and stuffing every available object in her mouth and pulling it out covered with drool. She's definitely getting her own personality too! Hasn't wanted to lay in someone's arms for weeks unless she's going to sleep. She either has to be sitting or standing on someone's lap! We officially started solids last week too. She's had lots of things already, I think her favorite fruit is bananas (home-made version... yes, I found the time to make some home-made baby food!!) and her favorite veggie so far appears to be sweet potatoes (that's not home-made) ;-) Written: Feb 25, 2002 Well, today would have been daddy's 26th Birthday... so we had a big day today. We had a birthday party at the cemetery and then went out to dinner at his favorite restaurant! Ashies has been sick for the past week or so. Had her first does of baby steroids, chest x-rays, and even an RSV test. Chest x-rays and RSV test showed no problems. (Thanks Nealy!) Turns out she had a mild case of croup that turned into the flemy yucky cough. She also has the starting of her first ear infection. Now she's on antibiotics and is doing lots better. Still coughing and fussy a lot, but doesn't sound near as bad as she did, and she's also sleeping A LOT better (and therefore, so is mom!) Put her on the scale at home yesterday, and she weighs 13lbs, 2oz. (It's got a slight value of miscalculation when it hits 12lbs, so we estimate that she's right at 13lbs. That puts her as gaining just over a pound this month :-) Yeah!! We measured her yesterday too, and she's about 26", so she's grown another inch this month! p.s., She's now tried all of the stage 1 fruits & veggies and we didn't have any allergic reactions. She's also on Oatmeal cereal now. We did try her out with chicken tonight .... and she didn't seem to care for that much (odd, considering Neal & I LOVE chicken!) We'll try again another day, but even I must say it didn't smell appetizing at all!! Anyway, will update again in a few weeks... Hope you all stay safe in the meantime. God Bless! |
