One of the final things that happened was the ringing of the bell. They announced that radio traffic at 10:00am (the time of Neal's service at St. Mary's) was halted for 1 minute of silence followed by the official announcement that Neal was permanently 10-7 (Out of Service) in Stafford County. They then rang the bell, 5 short chimes three times in succession... Signal 5-5-5 the international signal that lets firefighters know that one of their own has been killed in the line of duty. As I left, I kissed the casket and promised Neal that our child would know who he was... and there hasn't been one day in the last 13 months that I haven't said his name to her. Neal used to tell me... A promise is a promise... No Matter What. *God Bless you Pooh... and May You Always Rest in Peace my Love* *We all continue to miss you....*
