When tomorrow starts without me And I'm not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today; While thinking of the many things We didn't get to say. But when tomorrow starts without me Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name And took me by the hand. She said my place was ready In Heaven far above And that I'd have to leave behind All those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, A tear fell from my eye; It seemed almost impossible, That I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad I thought of all the love we shared, And all the fun we had. If I could just relive yesterday, Just even for a while I'd say goodbye and kiss your cheek And maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized That this could never be; For emptiness and memories Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow; I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through Heaven's gates I felt so much at home; When God looked down and smiled at me From His great golden throne. He said, "This is eternity And all I've promised you; Today your life on earth is past, But here it starts anew." "I promise no tomorrow But today will always last; And since each day's the same day, There's no longing for the past." "But you have been so faithful, So trusting and so true; Though at times you did do things, You knew you shouldn't do." "But you have been forgiven And now at last you're free; So won't you take my hand And share my life with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart ... For every time you think of me, I'm right here ... in your heart. ---David Romano
This poem, was given to me by my second best friend, my mother, shortly after my first best friend, my husband, died. She said it was as if Neal wrote it for me himself. As I read it, all I could do was cry... because I know these are truly words he'd say from his heart. "Thanks Mommy, I needed this one" I framed this poem when she gave it to me and it sits on the same table as our wedding photos.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Today is the tomorrow that you thought about yesterday. Have you told some one you loved them, did you show that that you care, if they needed you, were you there? Don't judge someone else until you've walked in their shoes. If you had lived their life would you not be a different you? Don't be slow to say you're sorry and admit your mistakes. If tomorrow never comes, would your heart not ache for all the things you left undone and the words you never said? If you have someone who loves you then you are truly blessed. Always count your blessings for every day you have, and do your very best to make every day count. Leave happy memories with every one you love, so it won't hurt so much, If tomorrow never comes. --- Reatha Crow
If Tomorrow Never Comes
When your life is cold and lonely God sends you someone to love Someone to take care of you All your troubles seem to fade away like the sky growing darker as night falls. When God decides, he needs this gift and takes back what he has given you, Just remember, they are going to a better place. You can keep all the loving memories that remain in your hear forever. No matter how long you get to keep this gift from God, It will stay with you for the rest of your life To be joined once again by God. ---Ann Taylor
God's Gift
Your time on earth seemed all too brief because I wanted you in my life forever. And although I really miss you, in my heart I know that you are at peace. Still, countless times throughout the day, I find myself remembering you, Although I cannot see or hear you, I know that you are with me. I'll feel you in the warmth of the summer sun I'll see you in the brilliance of autumn leaves You'll be beside me in the peacefulness of a gentle snowfall and rejoice with me at the emergence of the first flowers of spring. I'm thankful for the times we shared and the priceless memories too; for those memories are a comfort now when I lovingly Remember You. ---Author Unknown
Remembering You
Could we ever forget your sparkling eyes Or the way you brightened each day, Or your smile which is etched in our memories So you're never far away? Could we ever forget those priceless moments? The answer, of course, is never. For you were part of our lives for a brief time, but you'll be part of our hearts forever. ---Author Unknown
