Poems
As I sit here on this, my first Mother's Day
Sad that our child's Daddy has gone away
I decided to look for poems of feelings that may reveal
Things that Neal, myself, and maybe even you currently feel.

Every single one of these poems made tears rush down my face
but as I sit here and post them in Neal's special place
I can't help but feel a smile trying to come through
Because I know this is something Neal would want me to do.

So take these poems to heart
For one day you and your dearest loved one may have to part
And as you read them, try not to cry for Neal today
Because he knows you've heard the words he wanted to say.

Try to find a smile deep inside
Knowing it was his time to go reside
Not with us who's love came from the heart
But with the One who blessed his life from the start.
When I leave this world
I want you all to know

That I'll be home with God
for He has told me so
Jesus will hold my hand
And I won't be afraid

The journey will be a pleasant one,
for he'll be with me all the way.

Don't ever have regrets
for things that are past,
for when you know you're loved
Heartaches never last

God didn't promise us perfection
It wasn't meant to be.

Just knowing that you love me
is all I'll ever need.
I know that you will miss me,
but don't be sad for long.

My love will never leave you,
I'll wait for you at home

When you wonder where I am
When I leave this world behind
Look into your own existence
I'm in your heart and mind

Look for me on sunny days
or over rainbows after showers
Look for me in lovely music
that we'd listen to for hours

Look for me under a star
The first one out at night
I'll be twinkling just for you
I'll be kissing you good night

So, when the sun goes down each day
I'll come out and light your night
Look for me under a star
I'll be shining very bright...

Just for you for all your days
to guide you always from afar
Just look for me in all you do
and look for me under a star

Look for Me Under a Star
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I am following the path that God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day
to laught, to love, to work, or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found peace at the close of my day

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered jou
a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with time of sorrow,
I wish to you the sunshine of tomorrow

My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one touched.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, now I'm free

I'm Free
At Home
I am safely home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder why I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illimined
Every dark and fearful glade

And He came himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still
Try to look beyond earth's shadows
Pray to trust our Father's Will

There is work still waiting for you
So you must not idly stand
Do it now, while life remaineth --
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will call you Home
Oh, the rapture of that meeting
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Safely Home
If I should leave this world
Without so much as a warning,
And not whisper a fond farewell,
Grieve not for one more message
From the lips that God has stilled.

But just remember me with love
And prayers for my soul's journey
To that fair land beyond life's tears
For I have believed with all my heart

In it's existence, and I know that
God is good, for he has come to me
Through the life of Him whose very
Garment I have sought to touch.

It may be lonely, and I hope you miss me
Just a little, because I have loved so deeply
Forgive me if I have hurt you
And remember me for what I longed to be.

Have faith that I am nearer than
Your dreams and fondest longings.
For the God of love shall keep all
Kindered spirits close together.

Through the misty vale between
This world and that to come
Keeps us from each other's sight.
For a few precious moments.

Whisper softly that you love me
And it shall linger on within my soul.

Until you come,
Say not good-bye
For on some bright tomorrow,
We Shall Meet Again

We Shall Meet Again
God looked around His garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your beautiful face

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.

Although He knew you were happy here
But He needed you with Him
He told you that you'd never again fear
Although you'd leave this earth dim

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
