Written June 1st:
Went to have my ultrasound on May 30th. It appears as though we're having an Ashleigh Neale....The doctor can't be 100% sure, but she was pointing out little girl parts... so, if that's the case, I hope it's an Ashleigh....or that she's very wrong about what she was pointing out... Won't know for sure until our child decides it's ready to join our world.... but for now, we're going with Ashleigh....
We are now 19 weeks pregnant... and the baby is now about 8" long and weighs a little over 1 lb :-) We're growing right on schedule. Ashleigh appears to be inheriting Daddy's thighs :-) Her femur bones have gone through a growth spurt in the past month ... more so than the rest of her...
Mommy and Baby still have no problems.... except for the obvious one of missing Daddy a great deal.
Daddy was looking forward to having his boy first... because he wanted to have a big brother to protect the little sister. But.. oh my, he was so looking forward to having "Daddy's little girl." He used to tell me our little girl was going to be so spoiled....and he was going to have the best bond with her. When we first found out we were pregnant, and we would go shopping, he would always pick up those cute little girl baby dresses, that were all frilly and pretty, and had the matching bottoms with the lace all over the butt!! So, needless to say, if we do end up with Daddy's little girl.... she will have lots of those dresses!
Whatever ends up joining us all in late September, I know our child will be loved by a whole lot of people ... and I know... Daddy would have been proud....
Written June 30:
We had a repeat ultrasound on June 28th. (Didn't get a new picture) :-(
We are now 27 weeks pregnant... and the baby is now about 12" long and weighs a mere 2 lbs :-) We're still growing right on schedule and Ashleigh still appears to be inheriting Daddy's thighs :-)
Mommy is not looking forward to 90 degree days with 90% humidity... but other than that.... I'm hanging in there and so is Ashleigh. We both still miss Daddy's loving touches....
I go back on July 18th for my regular check-up and one more ultrasound on the 19th. Everything is ok.. They are just keeping an eye out for Ashleigh as we've entered our third trimester....Less than 3 months left (hopefully!!) |
